Halloween is fast approaching

...and I might actually finish this in time to enjoy it during October!

Alexander Henry's 'The Ghastlies' quilt top is all finished! The tricky part about doing this pattern with a fussy cut print is the stretch of the fabric since they are cut on the bias.

These photos are taken at night, so they're a bit dark =/ I did a few split-color blocks for this quilt top, you can spot one in the photo above 2nd block from the bottom right, lady with witch hat and house. I literally took the same print in two colorways, overlapped them and joined them together as seamless as possible. I really enjoy the result of drafting the blocks this way but it is super tedious and takes a lot more fabric to make each block.

Now I really need to go get some batting as I have 3 quilt tops ready to be basted now, lol.

  1. Oh, I am so in LOVE with this quilt! The fabric is to die for (no pun intended)! What are you going to do with it when it is done? I am currently working on a Halloween quilt as well and it is going to be enormous...so big I won't be able to hang it on the wall :(

  2. Thanks, I just adore this fabric line! Mine is about full size, so it'll be for cuddling under on the couch =) Trying to decide between backing it with minky-dot or making a regular quilt back. Can't wait to see what you're working on =)
