Amy over at Park City Girl is hosting a Blogger's Quilt Festival, too fun! I'm entering the quilt I made for my niece's birthday, because it was my first stippled quilt and first time working with a darning foot. It was so exciting!

Here she is in all her wonderful glory! =)
This post is image intensive, because I couldn't post pics in production since this was a gift, that was just gifted yesterday. The whole thing was a last minute idea, the fabric was purchased on Sunday and I worked Mon-Thurs to get it done!

The front, quilted.
I bought two of the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' panels, so I could make this little pillow. The front is quilted and the back is super soft minky in red. What's better than one caterpillar, why two of course! Especially if you're a 1yr old who loves her 'pillar'! =)
Happy Birthday Tori Mia!
Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI love how rumply it looks after quilting. I really like the candle. Fabulous job!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Love the back as well.
ReplyDeleteThis fabric is based on a book that was one of my daughter's favourites when she was little. Now, she is in her first year of university!!! Nice quilt--brings back lots of good memories.

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful !
ReplyDeleteYou did an outrageously wonderful job !
I used to think people were taking the easy way out, by machine-quilting. But after trying it, and thinking my shoulders would DIE from all of the work, I RAN back to my hand-quilting hoop.
Congratulations on a beautiful quilt.
How cool is that! She is going to love them.
ReplyDeleteI love that layer cake backing!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! Please give me some machine quilting advice! I've never tried it (besides straight lines on a small quilt).
ReplyDeleteVery nice quilt:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great kid's book! I did a quilt based on this book 2 years ago. Very Fun!

I love your design for this fabric and the birthday cake on the backing was an inspired idea. Check out my very hungry caterpillar, I'm #193. I made it for my daughter to use with her kindergarten kids. Also, have you seen the new Brown Bear line? I just finished another quilt for her using that fabric.
