Note: This quilt was cut at a lot of midnights on the floor of our walk-in closet (while she slept in our room) with a pair of scissors and a square of paper for my template. Hence the lines are a bit off, but it tells it's own story of our time and place then =D

My daughter's keepsake quilt...and by far my favorite!
Park City Girl is having an Online Quilt Festival and bloggers are sharing their favorite quilts. My favorite happens to be my first real quilt, binding, batting and all the details!
The top layer is made entirely from my daughter's 1st year clothing! It's all been fussy cut and I love every inch of it. Whether it's the buttoned closure from the back of a dress, the smocked front or the butt ruffles from her one piece outfits! Oh so beautifully filled with memories!
It was my first attempt at binding and my first try at a simple pattern. Every inch of this quilt reminds me of her first year and my challenges as a new parent. I love watching her explore the squares and find something new each time.
All the button squares can be unbuttoned by her little hands but are hand-sewn underneath, so she can't get to the batting. Note the tiny fairy with her see-through dress, pink panties of course =)
There are beautiful button applique's from onesies and tons of uber cute butt ruffled squares.
